Football/Sports Commentator

Beginning at the Capital Gold & BRMB networks in 1998, I broadcast reports from Walsall matches for the stations’ Saturday afternoon output, quickly rising in prominence to become lead commentator for West Bromwich Albion games in their promotion season of 2000/1 whilst also providing live commentary on games involving Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wandrerers & Walsall.

Upon my move to national talkSPORT radio in 2004, I started reporting countrywide on Premier league and Championship games and was then chosen to be part of the station’s commentary team for the World Cup in 2006, which led to me providing full 90-minute commentary on 8 games at the tournament including the 3rd/4th place play-off.

I have since been used to commentate on live games in the Premier League for talkSPORT as part of their hugely successful ‘Matchday Live’ programme and was also lead commentator for the station’s coverage of the 20/20 cricket finals day at Edgbaston in 2007. I am also a regular commentator at UEFA.com on Champions League and Europa League matches as well as work for Everton TV as commentator on their Premier League games.

Then in summer 2010, I was selected by talkSPORT to travel to South Africa as their No.2 commentator for the FIFA World Cup, calling the action in games involving sides such as Argentina, France, Italy and Spain.

Following that I was made England correspondent for talkSPORT at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and travelled extensively across Brazil with the national team providing exclusive interviews and content for the station.

By 2016, I had returned to commentary duties at the Euros in France and commentated on Wales’ extraordinary progress to the last 4 as well as other matches involving Republic Of Ireland & Northern Ireland. Following that tournament I was installed as talkSPORT 2’s lead commentator for Saturday afternoon Premier League games as part of a new broadcast deal. By the 2017/18 season that was added to by commentaries on EFL matches as talkSPORT 2’s football portfolio grew still further

In summer 2018, I was once again a lead commentator for talkSPORT at a World Cup as I travelled to Russia for 9 big commentary games including Spain 3-3 Portugal and Japan 2-3 Belgium amongst other classic matches
